Denture Therapy

Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. These removable devices also fill in surrounding gum tissue. and are made to fit conveniently and comfortably in your mouth based on impressions made of your jaw, as well as a series of measurements. Dentures allow those with a series of missing teeth to eat without much restriction and have a full and healthy smile.

Types of Dentures

There are primarily two different kinds of dentures, partial dentures and complete dentures.

Partial dentures are used when there are one or more natural teeth remaining in the upper jaw or lower jaw. These removable replacement teeth are attached to a gum-colored plastic base that has internal attachments for a natural looking fit.

Complete dentures are used to replace a full set of teeth. Usually, this means that the patient needs to have some teeth removed and must wait for the gum tissue to heal before dentures can be used.

At Dolphin Dental, Dr. Rao and Dr. Sezer will conduct a comprehensive examination of your mouth and teeth prior to recommending a denture solution.

After you have received your dentures and begun using them, Dr. Rao and Dr. Sezer will continue to monitor your case during your scheduled hygiene visits to ensure that your dentures provide optimal support, stability and retention.

Normally, dentures must be delivered to a dental laboratory for adjustment – this can take several days. Dolphin Dental in-house dental lab is located at our clinic location, enabling on-site adjustments and faster service to our patients.
